Is the show appropriate for children?
This is a family show, providing entertainment for all ages. The show has
tremendous educational value, and portrays virtues such as loyalty, trust, and
courage. As the show is set in the height of the French Revolution, we do see two
scenes with a guillotine "in action" on stage. There is also sparse use of mild
profanity. Assistant Webmaster Nancy contributes this comment:
I don't really see anything negative in SP for kids, and consider
the message of it to far outweigh any minor little words here and there.
Considering what's on Broadway these days, it's extremely tame. I would bring any
kid who's old enough to not be freaked out by the guillotine.
